Eura E. Patterson Forbes (1848-1905)

Mrs. Andrew Forbes, whose death at Saguache, Colo, was announced last week, was buried at the Forbes cemetery Saturday. The remains arrived Friday evening accompanied by Mr. Forbes and her daughter, Mrs. Hinkle. The funeral was from the residence of Mrs. Ruth Forbes of this place, the services being conducted by Rev. Mr. Perkins. The funeral procession was the largest seen here for a long time.

Mrs. Forbes has been in ill health several years, and supposing she had lung trouble had spent some time in California.

Her last sickness lasted only seven days, and since her death it was learned she had liver trouble. Deceased spent a few days here in 1904.

Eura E. Patterson was born on the John S. Skinner place, south of Birmingham, Van Buren county, Iowa, Aug. 15, 1848, being 57 years, 1 month and 27 days old. She was married to Andrew Forbes April 21, 1864. Seven children were born to them, one died in infancy, and one daughter, Mary, died in 1895.

Mrs. Forbes is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Nannie E. Hinkle; four sons, and two sisters, Mrs. M. J. Barnes of Lakeview, Oregon, and Mrs. Harriet Day of Bridgeport, Cal.
