DEATHS

Died--At the residence of T. I. Bradford, in Bonaparte, Io., James F. Cogar, aged 85 years, 8 months and 22 days, on Wednesday morning January 5th, 1887.

Deceased was born in Jassamine county, Kentucky, April 13th, 1802. He was raised and educated in the county and state where he was born. Leaving his birthplace in 1829 he located in Marrion county, Mo. where he was married to Caroline D. Slaughter, in 1830. This union was blessed with eight children, three boys and five girls. Of these eight children, but two are living at present---Mrs. T.I. Bradford and Mr. C. L. Cogar. Mr. and Mrs Cogar removed to Van Buren county, locating near Bonaparte in 1839, where they remained till death called them hence.

Mrs. Cogar died Jan. 14th, 1871.

The subject of this notice was robust and hearty during his entire life, never having any serious sickness. His grandfather lived to the ripe old age of 104.
