Fairfield (Ia.) Ledger-Pg.14, Thursday, Sept.28,1989KEOSAUQUA-Grace A. Heald, 90, of Keosauqua, died Sept. 27, 1989, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 6, 1899, at Pontiac, Kansas to Orlo S. Carnahan and Anna Gheen Carnahan. She grew up in Henry County and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. She then lived and worked in Cantril. She married Russell Heald Sept. 8, 1921. He died in 1969.
She and her husband farmed near Mount Sterling and for many years operated Heald Hardware in Mount Sterling. Mrs. Heald moved to Keosauqua in 1979. She was a member of the Mount Sterling United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Eastern Star.
Surviving are two sons, Arthur Luvene of Keosauqua, and Glenn of Auxvasse, Mo.; two daughters, Betty Warrington of Burlington, and Beverly Blair of Keosauqua; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at the Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
The sevice for Mrs. Heald will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pedrick Funeral Home with the Rev. Andrew Rubenking officiating. Burial will be in Harness Cemetery in Mount Sterling.
A memorial has been established to build a sidewalk between Country Lane Apartments and the Van Buren Good Samaritan Center.
