Mrs. J. P. Matthews.

Evadne Blanch (Trimble) Mathews was born in Sandusky, Lee county, Iowa, October 16, 1871. She departed this life near Beauford, Franklin county, Missouri, March 28, 1906, being at the time of her death 34 years, 5 months, and 12 days old.

When about five years old she with her parents moved to a farm about three miles south and west of Bonaparte, Iowa, and in this vicinity she grew to womanhood. Later she went to stay with her aunt near Warren station, Lee county, and in this neighborhood she resided some five or six years. During this time she was wedded to Jesse Paul Matthews, Oct. 12, 1895. To this union five children were born, viz., Myrtle, Roy, Harold, Jesse, and Emil.

Jesse preceded his mother to the World beyond, having died at the age of three years. The others with her husband remain behind to mourn the loss of a dear loving mother and a good faithful wife. She also leaves to mourn their loss a father, Jasper Trimble; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Belle Hornbaker and Mrs. Mary Eleanore Bradford; and one brother Frank Clark Trimble; all of whom reside near Bonaparte.

Besides these she leaves behind her a host of friends; for wherever she has gone people knew her as one of was always kind and good to all.

She had been sick for nearly two years, having at first been taken with typhoid fever which left her in a delicate condition, the results of which ultimately caused her death. Thus briefly sketched is the life of one of God’s dear children, always kind, good, and true.

Following are the pall bearers, - R. M. Story, Mike Simmons, E. J. Wilson, Everet Johnson, Fred Helwig, and George Woods.

Funeral services were held at the M.E. church in Bonaparte Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. Geo. H. When officiating. The remains were interred in the Bonaparte cemetery.
