Ida Katherine Minear, daughter of George W. and Emma Pearson Minear, was born June 8, 1871 on the farm near Kilbourne, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa Wesleyan college in 1897. She taught three years and was then married to Dr. J. Baird in the home in which she was born. They moved to Silver Creek, Neb., where they lived four years, then moved to Coffeyville, Kansas, where she has since made her home for twenty four years.
She died Saturday evening, April 27, at 8 o'clock at the family home, 102 West First street, as the result of a heart disorder, following ten years of failing health.
She is survived by her husband, a son, Bruce Baird of Wood River, Ill., two daughters, Miss Byrle Baird, a teacher in the Udall high school, and Miss Lois Katherine Baird, student in high school. She also leaves two brothers and one sister, A. Bruce Minear of Miami, Fla., and A. C. Minear of Kilbourne, Iowa, and Miss Anna Minear of Lilbourne, Iowa.
The pall bearers mere [sic] Messrs. Ellis Bowser, A. D. Gise, Edmund Euday, Roy Clossen, Dick Wilson and Harry Passmore. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery.

NOTE: Ida Katherine Minear is found in the Latter Day Saints records as AFN 1403-CTR. Here you will find she had seven siblings including brothers Adam Bruce and Augustus Clay listed in her obituary above. Her husband is shown as Jay Baird.
