Marriage was a Surprise.

The marriage of Otto R. Perkins and Miss Effie Cox last Saturday was a great surprise to their friends, but that does not signify that it was any the less pleasing. the ceremony was performed by Justice Harwood at Keosauqua and in the evening the young people came home to receive the congratulations of the many friends.

The groom is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Perkins of the city and is a young man of good qualities, at present an employee of the Meek Bros. Co. "Windy," as he is more familiary [sic] known is the splendid first baseman of the ball team here and his able assistance has done much to bring honors to the Indians in the past battles.

The bride is one of our young ladies and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. I. Cox, and she will make Mr. Perkins a good wife.

The Bee joins with the friends of the young people in wishing the happy couple long life and much happiness.

[Note: Married 11 Nov 1905 per Otto Perkins obit.]
