ANOTHER QUIET WEDDING.

7 P. M., at the home of
the bride.

HOWARD-LEFFLER.

It is what we are looking for that surprises us when it does occur and so it was when Mr. Howard and Miss Leffler were united in marriage last Wednesday evening their friends received the news with a little start of surprise but were not slow in extending warmest approval and heartiest congratulations.

Wednesday evening, December 10, 1902, at the home of the bride's father, James Leffler, occurred the marriage of Miss Mattie A. Leffler and Charles A. Howard. At 7 o'clock the bride and groom appeared attended by Miss Grace Greenwait, the bridesmaid and Omer Leffler, brother of the bride, as best man. Rev. R. Collier performed the ceremony which was witnessed by quite a number of the relatives of the contracting parties. Refreshments were served and a pleasant evening was spent.

Mrs. Howard, formerly Mattie A. Leffler is a daughter of James Leffler. Their home is in Harrisburg township not far from Bentonsport. Miss Leffler's mother died when Mattie was a little girl and she has therefore been her father's housekeeper and companion for a number of years. She was a graduate from the Bonaparte Schools in 1896, and taught several terms of school. Mrs. Howard is a refined, lovable young woman, who will make a helpful life partner for Mr. Howard.

Charles A. Howard is a son of Samuel and Margaret Howard of Washington township. He is a study, industrious young farmer who has the respect of his acquaintances.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard will make their home at the James Leffler residence.
