Near Utica, Van Buren county, Iowa, at the beautiful residence of the bride’s parents, Mr. W.W. Morris and Miss Laura Day, both of Utica. At 7 p.m., Oct 16, just as the accomplished Mrs. Jewett finished playing the wedding march and before the notes had died away on the perfumed air, the young couple in charming attire, with firm tread and thoughtful brows, took their place in presence of the invited guests, beneath an arch of evergreen tastefully decorated with beautiful flowers, and with a beautiful and impressive ceremony the accomplished young couple were launched out upon the sea of life together. The pastor, R. Breeden, officiating. After the usual congratulations, the guests were served to an sumptuous repast of fat of the land. An hour of social chat and song fitly closed the occasion, and the happy company dispersed. There were several present from Burlington, Keokuk, Birmingham and elsewhere. The young Doctor with his beautiful bride, will spend the winter in Keokuk and then designs entering into his chosen profession, that of medicine. May success crown their lives. R.B.
