Last Will and Testament.

I, Lewis Lumb, of Bonaparte, Van Buren County, Iowa, being of full age, and of sound mind and memory, do make publish and declare, this, to be my Last Will and Testament in manner following.

Item 1st. I hereby direct that after my death, my body shall be decently buried, and all the expenses of my sickness and funeral, together with all my other just debts, if any, be paid as soon as means come into the hands of my Executor, or other legal or proper person for that purpose.

Item 2d. I give devise and bequeath to my wife, Olive W. Lumb, all the rest and residual of my property, real personal and mixed that I die possessed of, for her use and benefit during her natural life, and at her death, whatever of the said property may be left is to descend to Sarah Lumb Taylor, as her own forever. My said wife and myself, having raised and had the care of her from infancy, feel the same affection and solicitude for her welfare, as though she were our own child.

Item 3d. If I should survive my said wife Olive Lumb, then at my death, after the payment of all my just debts & expenses of my burial, the above named property as devised bequeathed to my said wife, is to descend in like manner to the said Sarah Lumb Taylor as her own forever, instead of to my wife aforesaid.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand at Bonaparte, County & State aforesaid, on this 23rd day of June, 1884.

Signed and published as his last Will and Testament by the said Lewis Lumb, in the presence of us, who at his request and in his presence, and in the presence of each other, have on said date, hereto subscribed our names as witnesses.
