Know all Men by these Presents:

That I, Luther C. Cheney of Bonaparte, Van Buren County, State of Iowa, being of sound mind and of full age, and desirous of disposing of my property while I may, do make publish and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament in manner following:

Item 1st, I desire that my body be decently buried and the expenses thereof together with my just debts be promptly paid.

Item 2nd, I give unto my son George L. Cheney the sum of One Thousand Dollars, the same to be paid out of any property remaining after the payment of my debts.

Item 3rd, I give unto my son Edward Cheney the sum of One Thousand Dollars, the same to be paid out of any property remaining after the payment of my debts.

Item 4th, I give anto my daughter Alice E. Lee a certain promissory note, due me, and signed by her husband W. F. Lee, and sufficient cash in addition to above note to make the total sum of One Thousand Dollars which said amount of cash is to be paid out of any property remaining after the payment of my debts.

Item 5th, I give unto Daniel W.Cheney, the rest and residue of all property belonging to my estate of whatever kind or nature left after paying the expenses and bequests above made.

Item 6th, I hereby constitute and appoint my son, Daniel W. Cheney to be the executor of this my Last Will and Testament, and desire that he be not required to give bond as such executor.

The undersigned, at the request of Luther C. Cheney, and in his presence and in the presence of each other, signed our names hereto as Witnesses and he declared the same to be his Last Will and Testament.
