SENIOR NOTES

(These articles were in the Milton High School paper publised by the high school, graduating class of 1928).

The seniors are earnestly pursing the study of sound and of sound waves in Physics. Sometimes it is necessary to use imagination to hear some of the sounds they try to produce.

The senior English is studying the Puritan period.

The economics class is studying the problems of distribution and of rent. While studying transportation each student wrote a paper on "The Story of Transportation". Gene Edmondson and Frances Cowles were thought by the class to have the best papers.

Negotiations is the subject of commercial law. The class is learning how to write and endorse all kinds of negotiable instruments.

Lola Archer was absent for over two weeks. The senior English class all wrote her letters to let her know how they sympathized with her.

Clifford Carlson is the pride of the senior class and the high school. Did you watch him play in that football game at Memphis? Seven members of the class play football.

On Nov. 11, Dorothy Gould celebrated her eighteenth birthday.

MILTON 6 - MEMPHIS 0

On Armistice Day Milton journeyed to Memphis where they turned back their rivals by a well earned score of 6 to 0. For over three quarters and a half the two teams battled each other on almost even terms, although Milton had a little advantage on both offense and defense.

Late in the fourth quarter with Memphis in kick formation and a strong wind blowing in their faces, Carlson, slender right tackle of the Milton team, broke through fast and blocked an attempted punt by Scott, Memphis fullback and obligingly picked it up on the local 35 yard line and dashed across the goal for the only marker of the game, Stephenson's try for goal from placement was blocked. Big "Cliff" had been playing great ball all during the game. It was no bit of luck which helped him accomplish this feat. He was not pushed by an enemy and about four Milton men went over the last marker with him.

Clifford Carlson is my father, graduating in the class of 1928 and these school's news articles are in my possession, submitted for those who might have an interest in Milton School History.
