Miss Clarissia Murphy and Clifford Carlson, both of the South Prairie community, were united in marriage Sunday, Nov. 8 [1936] at the Swedish Lutheran Church in Ottumwa [IA}. The ceremony was read at 8:00 a.m. by the pastor of the church. Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Glen Avery of Ottumwa.

Mrs. Carlson is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Charlie Murphy. She was graduated from the Milton high school with the class of 1931. Mr. Carlson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor F. Carlson. He is also a graduate of the Milton high school with the class of 1928. They will make their home with his parents, who live southwest of Milton.

A number of their friends and neighbors gave them a charivari at the Carlson home, Monday evening. About sixty persons were present.

They are my parents; submitted for those who might have an interest in genealogy. Note: Clarissia's first name is spelled with the extra "i before the last a", named after her aunt Lelah Clarissia (Murphy) Burkett.
