On Saturday evening, Dec. 23, 1922, Ralph W. Hales, son of Mr. and Mrs. John P. D. Hales, of near Willets [Willits] , this county, and Miss Gladys M. Brassfield were married at the home of Walter Lee and wife of Willets, where the bride was staying. Rev. M. F. Campbell, pastor of the M.E. church of Mt. Sterling afficiating. A number of relatives and intimate friends witnessed the ceremony and enjoyed an excellent wedding supper. The bride and groom, who are highly esteemed young people in their neighborhood, will make their home for the present with the groom's parents. Their many friends wish them a pleasant journey through life.

My mother, Gladys, was helping care for Mr. and Mrs. Lee's newly born twins, Harold and Helen, in their farm home at Willits Station.
According to their marriage certificate, Ralph's two brother-in-laws, Earle Payne and Clinton Mize, signed as witnesses's.
