Pickard – Frye.
Mr. Roy Pickard and Miss Orpha Frye were united in marriage Tuesday evening at 7:30 o’clock, October 27, Rev. Mayo of Hillsboro officiating.
The wedding occurred at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Frye, in north Harrisburg township. There were about thirty guests present, most of those being relatives of the bride. The house was beautifully decorated in pink and white, and lovely refreshments were served.
Mrs. Pickard is an attractive and accomplished young lady, well known in Bonaparte and Keosauqua, having worked at the millinery trade in the latter place.
Mr. Pickard is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Pickard who live near Bentonsport. He is a farmer by trade, and with his excellent wife will doubtless have a successful future.
[note: year not stated but position in scrapbook would suggest 1909]
