Mr. Ray Cox of Bentonsport and Miss Jennie Cochran of Mt. Sterling were married at Ottumwa, Saturday, November 3, 1906. They went to Ottumwa without notifying their friends of their intentions, the wedding being a surprise.

Mr. Cox is second son of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Cox and well known here. He was for a year or more mail carrier on route No. 2 out of Bentonsport, and is now running a saw mill.

Mrs. Cox is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Parnick Cochran of Mt. Sterling, and well fitted for a helpmate for her husband.

Submitted by LuRee Runnells; Ray Cox was my great uncle, brother to my grandmother, Carrie Cox Murphy, this news article is in an old family scrapbook in my possession.
