Sherman Jamison, a highly respected young man, residing near Keosauqua, was married at Mt. Pleasant, May 9, 1900. The Mt Pleasant Journal of May 10 says of the wedding:

"Mr. Sherman Jamison, of Keosauqua, and Miss Lillie May Hill, were married yesterday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Austin B. Gilbert, in this city. The ceremony was performed by Rev. H. F. Gilbert. Many nice wedding presents were received and an elegant wedding supper was served. The groom is a prosperous young farmer, residing near Keosauqua, and the bride is a very estimable young lady who has made her home for several years past with Mr. and Mrs. Austin Gilbert. The happy couple received friends and when they left on this morning's train, they were showered with rice."
