Mother Receives Medal Awarded Son.

Mrs. Flo Beer of Keosauqua, mother of Clyde E. Beer who was killed in France last summer while serving with a division of French troops, of which mention has been made in these columns, recently received from French army officials a "Croix de Guerre" bronze and silver star medal which was awarded Clyde for faithful and meritorious service, a stipulation of the reward being that the medal was to go to his "nearest kin" if he should die or be killed while in service, hence the mother received it. Clyde went overseas with the first contingent of American troops and was attached to a French division soon after arriving in France and was serving there when killed.
