Mrs. W. S. Lane of Bonapartel and daughters, Mrs. Frank McGlothlen of Stockport and Mrs. Kenneth Warner of Bonaparte were in Keokuk Saturday where they attended funeral services for James Curley of that city. He was 86 years old. Mr. Curley was a six year old boy in a railroad car load of orphans from New York City, which were shipped into Carthage, Illinois. People of that community went to the car and picked out the orphans which they agreed to give a home and Mrs. Lane's father, S. A. Main picked out James Curley and took him home. At that time there were no children in the Main family. Mr. Curley had lived in Keokuk for many years.

Source: unknown but likely a Bonaparte, Van Buren Co., IA newspaper. Date was from year 1952.
