Wedding Bells.
In response to invitations received, about seventy guests assembled at the residence of Mrs. M. E. Ehrman, in Vernon, Iowa, Thursday afternoon, the 23rd ult., to witness the nupitals of her grand-daughter, Miss Daisy Patterson and Mr. Perry L. Murphy.
The arrangements had been well made, everything in good taste and abundance: and not a cloud to mar the scene. The rooms were darkened and the light furnished from within, which was quite a pleasant feature of the occasion. In a most beautiful and impressive manner the marriage ceremony was performed, promptly at three o'clock, by Rev. W. E. Patterson, of Brighton, Iowa, father of the bride, assisted by Rev. R. Breeden, of Bentonsport, after which the young couple received the congratulations of all present.
Miss Ada Murphy acted as bridesmaid and Mr. T. W. McCrary as groomsmen.
After the marriage services, the company repaired to the dining room were was served a repast so sumptuous, as to defy description, hence we will not undertake it.
Over 100 invitations were issued, but several from abroad were unable to be present.
The bride is a young lady well known in this community and loved and respected by the many who have known her since childhood.
The groom is a prosperous young farmer and merits the friendship of all who have the pleasure of his acquaintance. They will live on a farm about 1 mile west of Vernon, where they will be at home after March 1. They start out with a brilliant future before them and may their happiness never be clouded, but always bright with love and sunshine, is the wish of their many friends.
