WALTHER-IKERD
A pretty wedding at the home of the bride's parents.
Yesterday morning at 10:30 o'clock, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Ikerd, in the Third Ward, their daughter Emma was joined in the marriage to Mr. Edward Walther. The wedding was private, the ceremony being performed in the presence of a small company of relatives and a few intimate friends, by Squire J. Argust. Wm. Dunley and Miss Julia Bedier acting as assistants. After the ceremony the happy young people, in company with the relatives and friends assembled, partook of a splendid wedding dinner prepared for them. In the evening a reception was tendered them at the home of the grooms parents.
Both of the young people have lived in the vicinity since the opening chapter, and have hosts of friends, among whom the RUSTLER is pleased to be numbered. The bride is the daughter of one of our oldest and most highly respected families, a lady of high intelligence and richly endowed with all the qualities which go to make up a true and noble womanhood. The groom has been from early boyhood employed in usefulness. Here, by strict application to every duty he has grown into one of the most popular and courteous business men. They will immediately go to housekeeping in the rooms being prepared for them, opposite our office. For their many friends who cannot see them in person, the RUSTLER bids "God speed."
