Married at Keokuk.
Miss Olive E. Jenkins and Mr. Gus Freed, both of Farmington, were married at Keokuk Saturday, the ceremony being a surprise to many. Mr. Freed has purchased the cigar factory of J. W. Lickles at Keosauqua and the future home will be made there.
The marriage of this young lady acted as the explosion of a firecracker near the honorable board of directors, although they had in a measure been prepared for the event, as rumor persistently maintained that Miss Jenkins would not return to her duties in the fall. Yet the receipt of her resignation was a surprise.
Last year Miss Jenkins presided over the second primary room in an able manner, winning the respect of the pupils as well as the board and of the public, and one and all join in extending best wishes.
