Holmes-Matlock.
James M. Holmes and Miss Bernetta Matlock were married Wednesday afternoon at three o’clock, Wednesday, December 18, 1907, at the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Mary Matlock in Bonaparte, Iowa, Rev. Alfred Trenerry, pastor of the Baptist church, officiating.
They will live for the present with the bride’s mother. They went to Ottumwa Wednesday evening for a short visit with Mr. Holmes uncle, Dr. Holmes.
Mr. Holmes is a son of Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Holmes of Harrisburg township and is an honorable and respected young man. He is employed as weaver in the Bonaparte Woolen Mills.
Mrs. Holmes is the youngest daughter of Mrs. Mary Matlock. She was reared south of Bonaparte but came here a few years ago and has recently been employed in the Meek Bros. Clothing factory. She is well qualified by nature and education to make for Mr. Holmes a happy home. The RECORD takes great pleasure in joining with the many friends in extending best wishes.
