Leffler-Roberts Marriage 1912

Mr. Geo. V. Leffler and Miss Lucretia E. Roberts were married at the home of the bride's parents, Wednesday, August 28, 1912, Rev. T. L. Smith officiating using the ring ceremony. Only the immediate relatives were present.

Mr. Leffler is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew J. Leffler of southern Cedar township, Van Buren county. He is a graduate of the Iowa State College at Ames; President of the Van Buren County Farmers' Institute; director of the Farmers and Traders State Bank of Bonaparte; and a progressive up to date farmer.

Mrs. Leffler is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Roberts of Bonaparte. The early part of her life was spent near Keosauqua and she was graduated from the high school of that town. She is an accomplished musician having studied in the conservatory at Drake University; a good seamstress, a first class cook, and an unusually talented young woman.

After October 1 they will be at home at Cedar Flat, the old homestead of the A. J. Leffler family. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Leffler will retire from the farm.

The ceremony was performed at ten A. M., a lunch was served, and the newlyweds departed for a ten days or two weeks trip, by train to St. Louis, by Mississippi steamer to St. Paul, etc.

Those present from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Geo. M. Nelson of Goldfields, Iowa; Mrs. Earle Wells of Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Lee Forman of Ames, Iowa; a and Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Elliott and daughter, Margaret of Des Moines.
