Mr. Torrence Sergeant of Vernon Prairie and Miss Grace A. Johnson of Stockport were married Tuesday, June 22, 1909, at Keosauqua.
The wedding ceremony was performed at the home of Mr. Sargeant’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Aristides Lippincott, in the Russell House, Rev. G. E. Perkins of the Congregational church officiating. Only the immediate relatives were present.
Mr. Sergeant is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Sergeant of Vernon Prairie. He is an enterprising, industrious young farmer and machinist. Mrs. Sergeant is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Johnson of near Stockport. She has been a successful school teacher and also is well advanced in banking and bookkeeping. Mr. Sergeant is to be congratulated in securing as splendid a bride. They will reside for the present with the Sergeant family, Mr. Sergeant having a share in the farming. May they live long and happily.
