(Continued from page 1)Mrs. Richards Silver has received news of the promotion of her husband to Capt. He is believed to be in Hawaii.
Rex Morrison, who has taught grades 7 and 8 in Stockport school for the past 3 1/2 years, and who was reelected to the position again this spring has accepted a more attractive contract to teach the same grades in the Kalona schools.
The Legion Auxiliary held a fish fry at the Legion Hall on Tuesday evening of last week.
Al Pence, who is in the army stationed at a California camp, is spending a 15 day furlough here, being called by the serious illness of his father.
The Royal Neighbors enjoyed a covered dish supper in their lodge hall Friday night celebrating the anniversary of their order.
Mrs. George Irvin of Des Moines visited last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Nixon.
The Christian Ladies Aid met on Wednesday afternoon, May 6, in the church parlors.
The W.C.C.S. of the Methodist church will meet on Wednesday afternoon, May 13, in the church parlors with Mesdames Floyd Johnston and Mrs. Harold Johnston as hostesses.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Ross are the parents of a daughter, Sharon Kay, born Saturday, May 2, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Johnson. Mrs. Ross was the former Helen Johnson.
Mrs. Ralph Tucker of Chicago is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Morris.
Mrs. R.R. Yarnell has returned home from Danville where she has been visiting at the home of daughter, Mrs. Ralph Heabner and family.
