Friday evening, May 1, members of the senior class, faculty, Mr. and Mrs. Moxley and Mrs. F.L. Pickard met the crew of the S.H.S. Rowboat at the Christian church, and embarked on a "through-life hour" following the theme of the banquet "Keep 'Em Sailin'."
Toastmistress June Pickard took charge of the festival but was quite outdone by Ed Duvall (seaman, last class) during the repast.
"Chow" consisted of Cannon Balls, Bullets Deck Mops, Hardtack, Sea Water, Salt Water, Navy Beans and-All's Well-Make whot you will out of it-it was "deelishus!"
First Mate Verne Smutz welcomed the seniors, with the response given by Bob Morris. Mildred Dorothy and Rear Admiral P.L. Pickard did very well on the speech line while Evelyn Hoffer and Betty Bailey collected the laughs when they read the senior class will and prophecy. June Pickard and Melba Schulz did good harmonizing on the song "Somebody Else Is Taking My Place."
After the show the group attended "Skylark" at the Co-ed theatre in Fairfield.

MEET THE STARS OF '42La Verne Morris, know as "Bernie" has attended all twelve years at Stockport high school. Among Bernie's favorites are subjects, shorthand and typing; teachers, Mr. Morris and Miss Oberg; movie stars, Lana Turner and John Wayne; dish, spaghetti with tomatoes and chicken. Bernie was on the basketball squad four years and was vice president of the class in her freshman and junior years and secretary and treasurer her senior year. Her hobby is collecting pins, cigarette lights and knives. Her pastime is dancing (at Bonaparte) and listening to their swing music. (Incidentally, we were wondering if Ft. Madison isn't one of her pastimes or if a certain T.S. isn't one also). The class plays that Bernie has taken part in are "Worrying Willie" and "His First Shave." Bernie has no definite but whatever she undertakes we wish her the best of luck.
