Crash Victims

The Keosauqua men pictured above, Lewis Frank Caudill, 46, left, and Charles Phillip Lazenby, 40, lost their lives a week ago when the car in which they were driving east of Highway No. 2 collided with the Burlington gas-electric train at a crossing six miles east of Donnellson. The accident was witnessed by Earl McMurren of Donnellson and Rob Haeffner, farmer living near the crossing. Mr. Caudill, the driver, is thought to have been blinded by the rising sun. The crossing does no have an electric warning signal. Mr. Lazenby was proprietor of the Lazenby Motor company and Mr. Caudill was his salesman.
