OREGON TO STOCKPORT VIA PANAMA, DETROIT
**Handwritten: Sept. 25, 1941Edwin DeWitt of Portland, Oreg., came the long way to visit his mother, Mrs. Ciara DeWitt at Stockport.
He obtained a job on a merchant ship that came through the Panama canal and up the east coast and then up the St. Lawrence to the Great Lakes.
Relatives who came to Stockport to visit him over the weekend were his sister, Mrs. Burnell Flack from Osage and Mike Peters and family from Ft. Madison.
