MR. DAGGETT WAS CALLED TO WASHINGTON, D.C.

Mr. Everett Daggett of Bonaparte who recently asked for leave of absence as director of Social Welfare in Van Buren county to accept Red Cross work, had expected to go to Neosho, Mo., but on last Friday received instructions to come to Washington, D.C. instead, reporting there Monday morning to remain two weeks and receive his assigment of duty. He left Fairfield on Saturday night by train.

Mrs. Barbara De Semones of Hillsboro is a new employee in the Welfare office. She is a graduate of the State University of Iowa, has had considerable experience as a teacher, and has also been employed as saleslady. She is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. C.E. Graves.
