BEN COX CELEBRATES 80th BIRTHDAY

On Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Ben Cox entertained a group of friends in celebration of Ben’s 80th birthday. A number of his old railroad friends were present and much time was spent in recalling the past. Tables were spread on the lawn and the guests enjoyed a picnic supper, after which they were entertained by W. S. Grover and Joseph Hobbs who addressed them.

The meal was graciously served by Mesdames: Ethell Priddy and Peggie Boyd, Miss Mae Talbott and Clarabelle Priddy.

Those who registered in the afternoon were: T. A. Miller, Springfield; George O. Kaeger and Wm. G. Fair of Pekin; L. G. Hulting, C. T. Telfer, Peoria; W. S. Grover, Havanda; C. W. Brown and wife, Chillocothe; A. L. Grant, T. Bender, Glen Tackman, Louis Vance, J. W. Hobbs, Andy Kerr, J. E. Brodman, Frank Palmer, W. H. Boyd and Clyde Priddy.

Those who came in the evening to wish Mr. Cox happy returns of the day were: Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Bender and daughter, Mrs. J. E. Brodman and children, Mrs. Dolla Hobbs and Minnie _______the rest is cut off_______.
