Dr. F.W. McIntosh drove to Fairfield Tuesday and brought Mrs. Joe Barker home from the hospital.

GOLD STAR MOTHER FRACTURES KNEE

Mrs. Joe M. Barker of Keosauqua, whose son Loren Joe Barker was reported missing following action with the enemy in Hawaiian waters, fractured a knee in a fall on the ice at her home Saturday. She was removed to the Jefferson county hospital in Fairfield.

A birthday card shower will be held today for Mrs. Joe M. Barker who was a patient in the hospital at Fairfield after injuring her knee in a fall on the ice. Her condition is reported to be improving. She returned home Tuesday.
