County Rationing Board Has Five Members

Members of the Commodity Rationing Board for Van Buren county appointed under instructions and orders of the Iowa Industrial and Defense commission are Joseph W. Newbold, Keosauqua, chairman; A.G. Baldwin, Farmington; Jess Jolley, Milton; C.E. Pedrick, Douds; and F.L. Pickard, Stockport.

Local rationing boards are not organized in towns under 2,000 so in order to keep the membership of the county board within the limit set and recommended by the state commission, Van Buren county was divided into five sections and a member appointed so that each section would have easy access to a board member.

Chairman Newbold will give puvlicity to the classifications and schedule under which new tires will be issued and purchase permitted, as soon as they are received from Washington. These are promised for this purpose so that the county rationing board will be ready for business Jan. 5 when the present ban on sale of new tires will be lifted and purchase made only by certificate from the county board.

Van Buren County Defense Council,
A.L. Doud, Jr. Chairman
