Mr. and Mrs. William Elsensohn of 614 West Main street have received word that their son, Fred S. Elsensohn, has been promoted from second lieutenant to first lieutenant, after completing 30 missions over occupied Europe. He will stay overseas as an instructor for three months before returning home. He was graduated from the Ottumwa high school in 1940.
