THE UNEXPECTED HAPPENS.

Rather a Surprise, Yet Has Long
Been Anticipated and Prognosticated

MEEK-BOYER.

About two weeks ago Miss Georgia Boyer left Bonaparte for Chicago never to return. Last Saturday Carl Meek took the same journey, without arousing the least suspicion among his friends in Bonaparte. Arriving in Chicago, he at once sound Miss Georgia, and they were united in the holy bonds of matrimony. The exact place and hour, the name of the divine who spoke the solemn words that united the young people, are all shrouded in mystery, but it is hoped that Mr. and Mrs. Meek will soon return and give an exact account of themselves.

Mrs. Carl Meek is a daughter of T. W. Boyer and wife, of Bonaparte. She has spent the greater part of her life in this city, with the exception of the time spent away at school. She is a graduate of the Bonaparte schools, and is a young lady of rare personal charms, gifted with talents that have been highly cultivated, and withal a kindly disposition that has made all her acquaintances admire and lover her.

Carl Meek is also a child of Bonaparte. Left an orphan when quite young, he lived for a time with his grandmother, Mrs. Christy, and for a number of yard resided in Chicago. At present he is a cutter in Meek Bros. Clothing Factory and is a young man of determination and energy which combined with superior business ability and an unreproachable character makes him well suited for the excellent lady who has become his wife.
