Know all men by these presents that Godfry Salor and Phebe his wife of the county of Van Buren in the Territory of Iowa in consideration of the Sum of Seven Hundred Dollars in hand paid by Samuel Chapman of the County of Desmoines in the Territory aforesaid have bargained and Sold and do hereby grant bargain sell and convey unto the Said Samuel Chapman his heirs and assigns forever the following premises Situate in the County of Van Buren in the Territory aforesaid bounded and described as follows viz. the South West quarter of Section Three in Township Sixty Eight North of Range Eight West of the United States Land in the fairfield Land District in Said Territory containing one Hundred and Sixty acres more or less this Said premises or Lot of Land was Sold to the Said Godfrey Salor by Deed bearing date the third day of June A D 1844 by W. H. Starr attourney for Elias Speidel of Hamilton County State of Ohio To Have and to hold Said premises with the apprertenances unto the Said Samuel Chapman his heirs and assigns forever. and the Said Godfry Salor and Phebe his wife for themselves and heirs doeth hereby covenant with Said Samuel Chapman his heirs and assigns that they are Lawfully Seized of the premises aforesaid that the premises are free and clear from all incumbrances whatsoever and that they will forever warrant and defend the Same with the appurtinances unto the Said Samuel Chapman his heirs and assigns against the Lawful Claims of all persons whomsoever

In Testimony whereof the Said Godfry Salor and Phebe his wife hereunto Set their hands and Seals this first day of November in the year A. D. one Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty five

Territory of Iowa Van Buren County. ?? On the first day of November A D 1845 before the Subsciber a Justice of the Peace within and for Said County personally appeared the Said Godfrey Salor and Phebe Salor personally Known to me to be the persons who Executed the forgoing Deed of Conveyance and acknowledged the Signing thereof to be their free act and deed for the uses and purposes therein expressed and the Said Phebe Salor wife of the Said Godfry Saylor being by me made acquainted with the contents of Said Deed of Conveyance and being by me examined Seperate and apart from her Said husband acknowledged on Such examination that She executed the Same and relinquished her Dower in the premises above mentioned freely and without compulsion or under influence of her husband
