LOWE-ROCKEFELLOW

April 8, 1905

Mr. Newton V. Lowe and Miss Carrie Rockefellow were married at the Methodist parsonage in Farmington Saturday evening April 8, 1905, Rev. Taylor officiating.

Miss Rockefellow has spent most of her life in Bonaparte and vicinity, being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt Rockefellow. She has for several years been employed in the woolen mills.

Mr. Lowe came to Bonaparte recently to play ball with the Indians. He is from Lafayette, Indiana.

They will for the present reside at the Rockefellow home south of Bonaparte.

MIDNIGHT MARRIAGE

As the clock struck twelve Monday night, Rev. J. H. Taylor was aroused from his peaceful slumber by a knocking that "came knocking at his chamber door." 'Twas not the raven that made the midnight noise but a young couple bent on a romantic wedding. They had chosen the midnight hour for he speaking of the fatal words that would tie them together until either Providence or the divorce courts would sever the bond. Rev. Taylor was soon dressed in his best pulpit suit and ushered the waiting couple into the parsonage parlor. The couple proved to be Newton Lowe and Miss Carrie Rockfellow [sic] of Bonaparte. After the performance of the marriage ceremony the happy couple came down town and were served lunch at one of the restaurants.
