Mary Francis Jinkens

Mary Francis Jinkens was born in Mt. Sterling, Ia., June 17, 1862. She was the daughter of Solomon and Christena Cackley Jinkens. She passed away at the home of her sister-in-law Mrs. Marie Jinkens where she was most kindly cared for until the end which came July 9, 1937. She was aged 75 years, 23 days. She came to Missouri when a small girl. She was united in marriage with Asbury Steeples, Jan. 1, 1908 at Luray, Mo. She united with the Asbury Methodist Church early in life and later with the Mt. Moriah church. When she and her husband moved to Granger, she united with the Granger Methodist Church where her home was as long as her health permitted. She was preceded in death by her husband who departed this life June 9, 1925. Also her father and mother and 5 brothers, WHC Jinkens, John S., James M., Joseph H., Warren, and one sister, Louisa Jane. Those surving besides Mrs. Jinkens are Mrs. Ellen Hunter of St. Paul, Nebraska. Also, 3 stepsons, George Steeples of Wichita, Kansas, Eus? Steeples of Mt. Sterling, Earl Steeples of E. Chicago, Ill.-2 step grandsons, nieces, nephews, as well as many friends. During her illness, she was a patient sufferer, always a kind neighbor and Christian woman. Funeral services at Granger Methodist Church-the Rev. J.E. Simpson in charge. Interrment, Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
