One of the happy events of Van Buren township was the silver wedding social at Mr. and Mrs. John Swiers; residence, last Thursday, March 11, 1880. It was the 25th anniversary of this respected couple; and over seventy guests were present to celebrate with them that day. The following is the list of presents left by friends, with Mr. Swiers and wife:
