An Auto Accident

One evening the first part of last week, Mace Clarridge, Deane Baldwin, Orville Bonnett and Mont Forbes were going to Fairfield in the Clarridge Ford car with Mace at the wheel, when near the Earl Hall residence, just north of town, the car went into a deep rut and Mace lost control of it. The car upset, turned over once or twice and righted itself on its wheels. All were thrown from the car but Deane, and when found he was sitting in the seat he had occupied before the accident, though on the opposite side of the car. He was in an unconscious condition and was taken to the home of his cousin, Earl Hall, several days later moved to his home, but not entirely conscious. At this time he is recovering, though it was a narrow escape. The rest of the boys were cut and bruised, none being serious. The car was badly damaged, two wheels broken, top torn off, wind shield broken and other repairs to make it good again. It was one of those accidents which occur at any time and no blame at all is laid on the driver, as he has been a careful driver, and accidents happen with horses [remainder of article missing]
