At eight o’clock Thursday evening, October 27, 1898, Miss Daisy Downing, of Bentonsport, and Mr. Gideon Bailey, of Vernon, were united in marriage. The ceremony was performed at the M. E. parsonage, Rev. Smith officiating. The happy couple will make their home with the groom’s parents, Dr. Gideon Bailey and wife, of Vernon.
