Hill-Greef Wedding

GREEF, HILL

The many old friends of Charlie Greef, formerly of Bentonsport, now of Eldora, will be interested in the following bit of felicity taken from the Eldora Enterprise, date of May 16: “On May 15th, at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Hill, three miles north of Newton, there was consummated a wedding of note to the citizens of Eldora, in the joining of hearts for life of Susan Margaret Hill and Charles Edward Greef. Such is the announcement of the parents with the statement that the newly wedded couple expects to be “at home” to their friends after June 5th. It was the wish of those interested that the affair should be of a quiet nature, and the guests were only the families of each. The happy couple took the evening train at Newton for Des Moines where they expect to stay for a few days. The bride is well known here, having recently taught that much spoken room No. 7 in our public schools. She possesses a jovial and kind disposition and is admired by all who know her. As of the groom, we hardly deem it necessary to say much. He has been a resident of Eldora for several years and is one of the most popular business men in the state of Iowa. He owns extensive lumber yards at Steamboat Rock and Union, and is considered one of the most prosperous, energetic and substantial business men in the city. The Enterprise extends hearty congratulations.”
