A.H. Leach To Jno. Henry Detwiler

For and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to them paid to their satisfaction, we do hereby convey to John Henry Detwiler the following real estate lying and being in the County of Van Buren State of Iowa to wit: commencing fifty feet N 3 degrees W of a stone at the northern boundary of Fifth street and the north end of Washington street and running N 3 degrees W one hundred feet, thence S 87 degrees W one hundred forty five feet, thence S 3 degrees E, one hundred feet, thence N 87 degrees E one hundred forty five feet to starting point, and containing ¼ acre more or less. And we covenant and agree that we are seized of an indefeasible title in fee simple to said real estate, and that we will forever warrant and defend the title to said premised against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.

I testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands this 17 day of September A.D. 1857.

Before the undersigned, a Justice of Peace of the county aforesaid, personally appeared, Ambrose H. Leach, Martha, his wife, who are personally known to me to be the identical persons whose names appear and are subscribed to the foregoing instrument of writing as grantor thereby and acknowledged the same to be their voluntary act and deed.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 18th day of September A.D. 1857.
