John & Dora Sietsema

After many years of searching, I have found the identity of my great great grandparents. John Sietsema and Dora/Madora Leibeus were married 10/11 1867 in Wapello County Iowa. I have found 3 Children, Anna born in 1869 and married William LaFeber, Elisabeth born in 1874 and married Frank Reinhard/Reinhardt and John born in 1877 and married Anna Singleton who are my great grandparents. For reasons unknown, John’s surname changed from Sietsema to Sitzmore and made it almost impossible to find any ancestors or descendants due to the lack of knowledge that this name change had occurred. The Sitzmore surname has no origin and first appeared in the 1920 U.S. census in Peoria Illinois as John Sitzmore 48, Anna 36, Beatrice 17, Daniel 12 who is my maternal grandfather, Magdeline 9, Walter 6, and Wilbur 5. To this day, anyone with the surname of Sitzmore can be directly traced to John. I am searching for anyone who is a descendant or has a family connection to John and Dora/Madora (Leibeus) Sietsema. I have found clues and small bits of information in the Iowa counties of Wapello, Grundy, Butler, Lee and Des Moines.
