Lutheran Home for Children

EVENSON

My the mother and two aunts of my mother-in-law, (Nora 1893-1962, Mina 1895-1974, and Melva) were sent to a Lutheran home for children when their mother died in 1897, because their father (Nels Evenson) was unable to care for them on his own. My mother-in-law wrote that the home was in Vermillion, Iowa, and that Melva died there of black measles. I've been unable to find any children's home or any record of the girls on census or other documents. Does anyone know where this home might have been? Nora and Mina were there until they reached 18 (about 1911-1913), so they should be on a census someplace.
