If you found them on the 1840 census you must know the name of the head of household which would be helpful for anyone trying to assist. Also I assume you have looked at Familysearch.org as these people may be on Ancestral file, IGI and possibly Pedigree Resource file. Once you have "id-ed" his father you may search Census in 1830 to locate resident Ohio county, then tax and property records in Ohio which ae abundant. The Iowa county is of great importance as well for they may be buried and recorded.
