In Response To: SHELLENBARGER (Bob Private)

Bob, You have a problem, but it is not insurmountable. In 1870 Solomon & Mary A. & family are in Neosho co. Ks. indexed as Shelenbarger. The older kidz are indicated as born Oh. Young John H. 11, is indicated as born Mi. The tree youngest children indicated as born Ia. are Willie M.8, Mary V. 5, Lillie E. 2. But here begins the problem. In 1860 solomAn & Mary Ann Shellenbarger are in Clinton twp, Fulton co. Oh. Again, the older kids indicated as born Oh. But John from the 1870 is enumerated as an "unnamed child, 7/12, born Mi. (Just to complicate it a little more, he's indicated as a female. There are also a couple other Shellenbarger families in Fulton co in 1860. But here is your ray of hope. In 1860 Iowa, there is a Shillenbarger family in Jasper co. and also a Sholenbarger family in Keokuk co. In both these households, all are indicated as born Oh. If these 2 families are related, and Solomon joined them In Iowa before leaving for Ks, It could narrow your area of search for the birth places of his children born in Iowa. Dick
