A HENDERSON family from Ire., immigrated to (Mercer Co. ?), New Jersey by 1850. They had a dau. Catherine who mar. James CORNEW/CANOE 1851, had a son James Jr. b. 1854. Both James Sr. and Catherine appear to have died by 1860. The Henderson grandparents took James CANOE to Iowa in 1860's.James was in the Allamakee and Clayton Cos. , Iowa area by 1878 when he mar.
