I have a lot more information! Henry Addison's father was Henry Agar Cross who was born in Davis County in 1856. He was a farmer, but then went to school and became a Baptist minister in 1897. He retired from the ministry with poor health and was serving his second term as mayor of Macksburg in Madison County when he died in 1918. He and his wife, Phoebe Jane Noah Cross Iiams had seven children. His son, Henry Addison Cross, was the youngest. One daughter died in infancy. The five surviving daughters were: Nancy (Nannie) M. Price Bishop (her daughter was Elizabeth Price Yetsen, I think); Margaret M. Hickox; Francis (or Frances) E. Gilbert; Bessie B. (Beatrice) Figgins; and Joyce Anna (Anna Joy) Herren.
Henry Agar's siblings were Alexander, Mordechi, James, Frances (or Francis), Jane, Lydia, and Nan. His brother, James M. Cross, served in the Civil War in the Iowa Third Cavalry, Company E. James was killed in either Pea Ridge, AR, or in Missouri. I think James was born in Indiana, and I think Henry Agar was about 6-7 years old when James died.
Any information would help! I still don't have Henry Agar's parents, and I would really like to find the families of his daughters and his siblings. We descend from his son.
Happy Hunting!
