Dick, I was in hopes of finding my grandmother. Her maiden name was Eva Patten. I found a Eva Patten on the 1895 Benton County/ Belle Plains, IA census. This says she was born in Canada Co, IA. Her mother died as the family was on their way to Oklahoma in the land run and Eva was sent to Iowa to live with relatives. Do you have access to the 1900 Benton County, IA Census to see what family this Eva Patten was living with? Thanks for the reply.
