I am trying to locate information on Dicy Maranda (Miranda) Maddox born 1863 in Iowa. She appears only once in census records as Dicy M. Brooking in the 1880 Federal Census for Pleasant, Lincoln CO, KS where she is listed with her one year old son, Henry E. Neither of them ever appear in the census again. Dicy married John Marriman Brooking in Concordia, Cloud CO, KS 20 September, 1877. She had another son, my grandfather Alonzo Vet Brooking in either 1880 or 81. I suspect she may have died in child birth in 1880. ANY information would be appreciated.
